About the role

Why the role exists

At Stonewell we work with ambitious, growing companies, and that creates two full-stack needs: on one hand building our own portals and applications (both web-based and mobile) for internal use (ERP insourcing) and external use (client portals), and on the other hand building SaaS applications as part of our SaaS arm.

You work on projects where you, in a small team, are responsible for the entire dev cycle, from architecture choices through to deployment and optimisation. You lean on AI-assisted tools, and make the strategic choices yourself.

The role

What you will do

  • Develop applications with a modern tech stack (Next.js/React (TS), PostgreSQL, OpenRouter (AI), Docker + AWS or Railway, etc.).
  • Where applicable: develop mobile applications (React Native or Flutter, depending on the project or existing stack).
  • Take responsibility for the entire dev cycle, from requirements engineering through to deployment and QA.
  • Document code, architecture and decisions so the team and the client can keep building.

Your experience

What you bring

  • 4+ years of experience as a full-stack developer in our tech stack.
  • Experience with mobile app development is a (big) plus.
  • Experience with production-grade systems, including robust CI/CD pipelines etc.
  • Experience leading teams (tech lead) is a plus.
  • Available during Dutch office hours (8:00–18:00 Amsterdam).
  • Fluent English; Dutch is a plus.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most

  • We mostly work remote, unless you work from our office in Pakistan or South Africa. Our HQ in the Netherlands is in the works for Dutch roles (likely The Hague).

  • No. If you recognise yourself in the role and most of the points, apply. We look at what you can do and how fast you learn, not at a checklist.

  • For an acquisition role, exclusively Dutch. For development roles everything runs in English (Dutch is not required, unless the vacancy explicitly states otherwise).

  • We make sure your interests and ours point the same way. If we win you win, and the other way around. Growth moves towards more seniority and responsibility (your own team, bigger projects), up to building companies together (such as SaaS businesses). It ultimately depends on what makes your heart beat faster.
